About Sociall Guide
Sociall Guide is a small, independent website about using social media with less exposure: which settings to change, how the newer networks work, and how to move between them.
Independent guide, relaunched in 2026. Not affiliated with any earlier Sociall social network or app.
What you'll find here
The privacy settings checker on the home page walks you through six kinds of settings on eight popular apps: X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Mastodon and Threads. It doesn't connect to your accounts. It tells you what to look for and roughly where, and you change things yourself. Your ticks are saved in your own browser and nowhere else.
The guides explain the bigger picture in plain language: how the fediverse and Mastodon work, what Bluesky's protocol does differently, how to cut down what apps learn about you, how to keep direct messages and group chats private, and how to leave a platform without losing the people you follow there.
How we write
We describe settings by what they do, because the names and menus change all the time. Where we give a menu path, treat it as a signpost, not a promise. We check facts against platforms' own help pages and documentation and against reporting from established outlets, and we update pages when things change.
We don't run ads, take payment from platforms, use affiliate links or accept sponsored posts. We don't build or sell a social network or an app. We're a guide, nothing more.
The guides are written by the Sociall Guide editors, a small team with backgrounds in web development, IT support and digital safety training.
About the name and the domain
The domain sociall.io was registered again and relaunched in 2026 under new, independent management. Sociall Guide has no connection to earlier owners of the domain or to any social network, app or company that used the Sociall name before. None of their pages, files or apps are hosted here.
Sociall Guide is also not affiliated with X Corp., Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Mastodon or any other company whose products we describe.
